Malemba Farming’s passion and love for cattle breeding will shine through at their 24th Production Auction.

The following interview took place between SwiftVEE and Jacques Swart & Andries Swart of Malemba farming. Read the blog post below where they tell us all about Malemba Farming, the auction, everything on offer and much more.

1. Introduce yourself

Malemba farming specializes in different agricultural categories such as; potato production and quality breeding of Simmentaler, Simbra and the Charolais cattle breeds. We also have the biggest Simmentaler and Simbra registered breeding Studs in Southern Africa.

2. Tell us more about your upcoming auction's offering.

We proudly present to you the following livestock for the upcoming auction:

- 60 Stud Bulls (30 Simbra & 30 Simmentaler Bulls).
- 130 commercial pregnant heifers.

3. Which auction lots should people be on the lookout for and why?

Unfortunately, it is very difficult to only make a few selections, as we strongly believe that all of our livestock at the auction is of top quality.

4. What is your breeding policy, and why?

Our breeding policy at Malemba Farming is to breed top quality, highly efficient and very adaptable bulls, that will ensure good genetic advancement in any herd.

5. Give us some history regarding your stud.

We are very passionate about breeding cattle. We are the 3rd generation at Malemba Farming managing and sharing a great love for genetic advancement.

We have been breeding Simmentalers for 53 years, Simbras for 27 years and Charolais for 7 years.

To be able to breed cattle is a privilege and we are excited for what lies ahead with the breeding journey.

6. Anything else you would like to share?

Malemba Farming is hosting an information day on the 2nd of February that will be of great value to any farmer. There will be guest speakers and a variety of agricultural stall-stands.

Bring your family and friends and come and enjoy the day with us.

Take note: all the livestock of the upcoming auction on the 16th of February will be available to look at on this day.
